The IFTA volunteers have been busy updating the inventory of the donated equipment from the last month and preparing it to transport to the City of Puerto Vallarta to be distributed to fire departments throughout the state of Jalisco, Mexico.

The Comala, Colima Fire Department proudly displays the equipment recently received from IFTA. Along with the fire/rescue and medical equipment donated, there was also special Nomex thread and material. This thread was graciously donated by the Atlantic Thread and Supply Company. The thread and material will be used to begin a regional fire/safety gear repair program, thanks to Francisco Alejandro Rodríguez Garcia, Director de la Unidad Municipal de Proteccion Civil y Bomberos de Comala Colima.

In January, the International Firefighters Association joined up with the Santa Barbara/Puerto Vallarta Sister Cities Committee during their 2020 visitation to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

There we met with the Rotary Club SUR, our good friend Larry McLaughlin from Rotary Club Cherry Creek, CO and attended meetings, club functions, breakfasts, dinner parties and planned our May 2020 Fire/Rescue Training Symposium.
